Jabberwocky 1974 - 1998
Jabba was a brown QH/TB cross about 16hh. Bred in the North of Tasmania, he was by Crackerjack, and so was sometimes also known as Crackerjack Junior. Jabberwocky had an extensive jumping career before being bought by Kate Roach in Hobart. Like so many great eventers he would "jump anything" but sometimes found this a bit exciting. This included dressage tests (because if we go fast we might get to the jumping a bit quicker). He was retired to light trail riding when arthritis caught up with him, and he enjoyed many quiet hacks, acting as steady companion to Kate's new TB mare. He still enjoyed playing his tricks, his favourite being to "blow out" so you couldn't get his girth onto the saddle girth points. |
